The Trinity River Paddling Trail is made up of parts of the Clear Fork, West Fork, Elm Fork and main branch of the Trinity River. It is approximately 127 miles long and currently the trail contains 22 official trailheads, virtually all with road access, parking, and signage. These “trail heads” meet the National Park Service “Best Management Practices” (BMP) or can easily be brought up to those standards. In the future, other trailheads are expected to be added, and all of these will be built and maintained according to BMP.

The Trinity River Paddling Trail shows how the 22 trailheads are connected. “Trinity River Paddling Trail Council” working under the umbrella of the Trinity Nature Conservancy has documented each of the put-in / take-out locations. Each trailhead location has GPS coordinates, directions to each location and typical river conditions. Please email TRPT-Manager@down-river.com for issues or problems regarding the river or trailheads.

The Trinity River Paddling Trail consists of 4 sections and this Web Page gives details and locations of each section.

Each river access location lists the USGS River gauge at the put-in or the nearest downstream river gauge. For more accurate river flow and level information please check the upstream river gauges.
